Regulatory status & disclosures
Last updated: May 2026
Summary
Idle is an analytics tool that helps users understand recurring spending patterns from a UK bank statement they upload. Idle is operated by the company behind getidle.uk and useidle.uk.
Idle is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) or any other UK financial services regulator.
What Idle does not do
- Idle does not provide regulated financial advice, investment advice or tax advice.
- Idle does not arrange, execute or initiate any payments on a user's behalf.
- Idle does not hold client money, custody assets or operate as a payment institution.
- Idle is not an Account Information Service Provider (AISP) under the Payment Services Regulations 2017.
- Idle does not provide credit, insurance, mortgages or claims management services.
What Idle does
Idle analyses statement data that the user has chosen to upload (PDF or CSV), identifies recurring payments, price changes and operational spending patterns, and presents this information to the user. Any action — switching provider, cancelling a subscription, changing a tariff — is taken by the user, directly with the relevant provider.
Comparison and partner content
Where Idle highlights an alternative product or service, it does so on an information-only basis. Some onward links may be commercial relationships with third-party comparison or affiliate networks. These links are clearly disclosed. Idle does not recommend a specific course of action and does not assess suitability for individual circumstances.
No reliance
Information shown in Idle is generated automatically from data the user provides and may contain errors, omissions or out-of-date references. Users should verify any figure, price or contractual term directly with the relevant provider before acting on it.
Complaints
Because Idle is not a regulated firm, complaints cannot be referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Complaints about the Idle service should be sent to hello@getidle.uk and will be acknowledged within five working days.
Changes
We will update this page if Idle's regulatory status changes — for example, if any part of the service later becomes authorised under the Payment Services Regulations or the Financial Services and Markets Act.
